    Biggest movie letdown???

To you personally, not overall, what has been the biggest movie letdown?

Not many know, but I will come clean. I am a HUGE HUGE Star Wars fan (F*CK Star Trek). So that means for me, its totally obvious. Episode I (and II and III) were the biggest disappoints ever. I have never been more disappointed in a movie than when I watched Ep. I. Jar Jar Binks? GTFO!! Ruining the Star Wars legacy just blew me away. I cannot believe they let this piece of garbage be shown to actual people.

I'm a fan as well, and I couldn't agree more.

They weren't as bad if you did like I did and watch them in order from Episode 1 through 6. 4 and 6 were my favorites, but I must say that I liked 3 better than 5. How could you not like Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu haha.

    THREE BETTER THAN FIVE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????

So you are saying whatever CGI **** name III was is better than EMPIRE???????????
i dont know whether to cry or vomit haha

Empire gives us the most quotable saying ever, boba fett, han getting frozen (leia: i love you han: i know FTW!!), etc...

Empire is my favorite SW movie; no way is Sith better than Empire!

    Re: Biggest movie letdown???

I'd have to agree. The new 3 are crap compared to the original 3. Episode 3 was tolerable, but 1 and 2 were awful with Ep. 1 being the worst. I remember being so geared up to watch them when the came out in theaters and being so disappointed after watching them.

Just to add to the list, I'll add nearly every Adam Sandler movie since Happy Gilmore to the list (minus a few like The Waterboy).

i agree on the Sandler movies, i cant believe a guy with two undeniable classics put out garbage like Zohan and some of this other work (if you can even call it work)

    Re: Biggest movie letdown???

Don't even get me started on how badly George Lucas totally screwed the Star Wars saga into the ground with Eps. 1, 2, and 3. Now I'm started....Jar Jar Binks: I do not know what that man was thinking to put the lamest character in movie history in Ep. 1. My only joy about it is the rumor that he was on Alderaan when the Death Star blew it up in Ep. 4. Lucas contradicts himself constantly about the writing of the series. (Reference the special features documentary on the 3 disc DVD collection of the original movies). He said that he had the whole backstory laid out before Star Wars came out, yet when it did, it wasn't even entitled Episode 4 in the opening crawl. Admits in the same documentary that at the time of Star Wars original release, Vader wasn't written as Luke and Leia's father, and they weren't even written as brother and sister. In my opinion, he wrote Star Wars, it became a success, and decided to write it as the six story feature afterwards...he may have had an outline of the 3 story trilogy beforehand, but nothing concrete. He just patched things together after he hit the jackpot with the original. That's why there are many contradictions in the episodes now and again.

    Re: Biggest movie letdown???

I'm a huge Star Wars fan as well and was not thrilled with the Jar Jar Binks character. I tended not to focus on him but on the introduction of other characters such as Darth Maul ( who was killed too soon) and Qui Gon. I've read many of the Star Wars novels that have come out over the years so it was cool to see characters from the books in the movies- especially the other Jedi Knights. There were parts of Episode II I really liked- the arrival of the Jedi Knights and the subsequent battle. Episode III was really good IMO and ranked up there with Return of the Jedi as my favorite. One day I will have my killer home theater system so I can enjoy all of them again.

    Re: Biggest movie letdown???

I have to say, hands down, the biggest disappointment of my cinematic life so far was the third Matrix movie. I was so disappointed in that movie that I now use "Matrix" as a verb that means "huge letdown." As in, "Man, I'm so excited about the last season of Lost. I really hope the series ends well... I hope they don't Matrix us."

(By the way, I felt quite Matrixed by the last season of Lost.)

    Re: Biggest movie letdown???

The problem with the new Star Wars movies, Ep1-3, is Lucus forgot what made the originals so good....the story, He opted instead to focus more on the look, which in my opinion was WORSE than the orginals. I thought the originals looked and felt more real. you actually believed this war might actually happen in a distant galaxy. And, Hayden Christenson (sp)...ugh. I understand that Anakin was supposed to fall to the dark side through his emotional battle with his mother's death, but Christenson just came off as a big crybaby who didn't get his way. ok, rant over. So I would agree, huge letdown.

On a side note, i like both Star Wars and Star Trek. How can you not like Captain Kirk?

Id also agree the Matrix3 was also a huge letdown. Same problems as SW.
